Summary: | The soils developed from bog iron ore and distributed locally on Vistula valley near Warsaw, among of muck, bog and gley soils. These soils have under the surface layer strongly cemented bog iron B10x horizon containing to 60 percent of Fe203. The contents of Fe203 in the surface Ah, M and ApBox horizons range from 4.75 to 48 percent but in underlying IICgg horizons only from 0.08 to 0.18 percent. Apart from iron these soils are also enriched with the compounds of Mn, Co, Ni, Cd and Pb. With regard to the feature of these soils it is suggested to classification them as a new type of ferritic soil developed from the bog iron ore with the sub-types of the ferritic-humus, siliceous-ferritic-humus and ferritic-muck soils |
