Summary:The study conducted on Arctic charr Salvelinus alpinus as a host, revealed that the life cycle of the parasite consists of eight stages separated by moults: nauplius I, nauplius II, copepodid, chalimus I, chalimus II, chalimus III, chalimus IV and adults. A separate preadult stage, becoming an adult in the course of moult, did not occur. Nauplis I after 24 h becomes nauplius II and the later moults into copepodid in 67 h. Appearance times of particular stages expressed by T sub (50), a parameter reflecting the time when 50 percent of individuals reached a given stage, where as follows : 7.1 days post infection (dpi) for chalimus I, 11.4 dpi for chalimus II, 14 dpi for chalimus III, 17.6 dpi for chalimus IV and 24.7 dpi for adults
