Summary:The fattening performance, carcass quality and physicochemical properties of muscle longissimus dorsi of 160 lambs Polish Longwool, 168 lambs of Polish Mountain, 131 lambs of Polish Lowland breeds as well as crossbreds F1 of the dams of these breeds and rams of Ile de France, Blackface and Berrichonne du Cher breeds were estimated. Of the 26 examined traits in 12 the differences between the experimental groups of lambs were statistically significant. The possibility of improving the quantity and quality of produced lamb meat through commercial crossing with Blackface and Ile de France breeds have been stated
