Summary:The studies focused on evaluation of fattening performance on contamination traits of bulls raised and qualified for A.I. Stations across Poland during 1976-90, bred from crossbreeding cows of domestic BWL cows with bulls other varieties of this breed. The evaluation results of slaughter performance and meat quality were also compared for BW heifers and bulls bred from crossbreds of Italian beef sires: Chianina, Marchigiana and Piemontese. The studies covered the population of 2595 bulls in 11 genotypes. The following growth and development characteristic of the bulls were analysed between 120 and 360 days of live: body weight at 120 and 360 days, and additionally at 400 days, average daily gain between 120 and 360 and between 120 and 400 days. Some morphometric measurements, which were carried out at 360 days, were also analysed, namely height at withers and chest girth measured behind shoulder blades. These measurements were used to calculate chest girth to height at withers indices, expressed in percentage
