Summary:The aim of study was to select the plant communities and their evaluation with respect to sward yielding and performance value of the sward. Two cuts were harvested from selected eighteen associations and 4 plant communities. It was found that three economically valuable communities of Molinio-Arrhenatheretum class, Arrhenatheralia order with good species composition and high performance value, dominated in the valley. Association of Alopecuretum pratensis was characterized by the highest mean yields and good sward performance value, while the community of Poa pratensis + Festuca rubris, most widespread in the valley, with the lowest values. Other communities occurred sporadically and were of no economical importance
