Summary: | Published hitherto models describing the effect of a narrow tine on the soil gave different results of calculated working resistance. Proposed model is based on the analysis of forces acting on the soil wedge which is divided into four sections: centre, two sides and horizontal. Side sections are considered as divided into elementary layers, each of them inclined at different angle to the vertical.
