Summary: | Incubation period of Conocephalus longipennis (de Haan) ranges from 18 to 30 days. Duration of the five nymphal stadia were: first nymphal stadium 5-9 days; second nymphal stadium 8-10 days; third nymphal stadium 9-13 days; fourth nymphal stadium 10 days; and fifth nymphal stadium 7-9 days. Adult longevity is about 50.6 days in males and about 46.6 days in females. First instar nymphs of C. longipennis fed in first instar nymphs of brown planthoppers, whitebacked planthoppers, and green leafhoppers. Adults also fed on eggs and adults of yellow stemborer, striped stemborer, leaffolder and rice bug. |
