Summary:An inventory of freshwater snails was done in 1996 and 1997 in the town of General Nakar, Quezon Province [Philippines]. This town forms a part of Central Sierra Madre. Seven trips were conducted and these covered 10 barangays [villages] of General Nakar. A total of 16 species of snails were identified. Five snail species belong to the genus Melanoides, five species to the genus Neritina, two to the genus Clithon, and one species each to the genera Septaria, Indoplanorbis, Thiara, and Brotia
