Summary:A study was made of the palms of Kubah National Park, Matang, Kuching Division, Sarawak. An investigation of existing reports of palms from the Park and its immediate environs was followed by fieldwork in the area to confirm these reports and to obtain additional records. Recent records for a total of 95 taxa were ultimately obtained. Eighty-six of these were recorded from the Park itself, and the remainder from its immediate environs. Two new palm species are reported. The extreme significance of the Park as a site for palms in Sarawak is discussed together with issues concerning the conservation of the palms of the Park. Extensions to the existing Park boundary are recommended. Ethnobotanical data and the vernacular names for the palms of the Matang area are presented
