Summary:'Flordagold' is a peach, Prunus persica (L.) Batsch, cultivar that was introduced to Mexico, where there is little information about its post-harvest behavior. In this experiment, we evaluated the response of fruits of this cultivar to cool storage at 2 and 5 grades C and 85 % RH for two and four weeks. After storage, fruits were kept at normal conditions (20 grades C, 50 to 60 % RH). At days zero, three and six after storage, fruits were analyzed for weight loss, firmness, malic acid content, total soluble solids, color, moisture, mealiness and severity of fruit rots. Results showed that this cultivar had a high sensitivity to fruit weight loss (19.5 %), especially after storage of four-weeks at 5 grades C. After the four-week storage period, followed by six days at ambient temperature, there was a reduction in fruit firmness and malic acid content, and an increase in total soluble solids and color. Mealiness and fruit rots were higher at 2 grades C 'Flordagold' es una variedad de durazno, Prunus persica (L.) Batsch, introducida a Mexico donde poco se conoce de su comportamiento postcosecha. En este experimento se evaluo la conservacion frigorifica de frutos de esta variedad a 2 y 5 ¬C y 85 % HR durante dos y cuatro semanas, despues de lo cual los frutos estuvieron en condiciones ambientales normales (20 grados C, 50 a 60 % HR). A los 0, 3 y 6 dias despues de aplicados los tratamientos de frigoconservacion, se tomaron datos de perdidas de peso, firmeza, contenido de acido malico, solidos solubles totales, color, humedad, 'harinosidad' y frutos danados por pudriciones. Los resultados indicaron la gran sensibilidad del durazno 'Flordagold' a las perdidas de peso (19.5 %), sobre todo al salir del tratamiento de cuatro semanas a 5 grados C. Despues de cuatro semanas de almacenamiento refrigerado y seis dias de exposicion en condiciones ambientales normales, la firmeza y el contenido de acido malico disminuyeron, en tanto que los solidos solubles totales y el color aumentaron. La harinosidad y los danos por pudriciones fueron mayores a 2 grados C
