Summary:Four sunflower (Helianthus annuus) hybrids have been investigated in order to analyse the type of inheritance of RAPD amplicons, for purposes of using them as molecular markers. It was found that amplicon inheritance was produced by complete dominance and codominance. These results may contribute to the explanation of genetic effects responsible for the occurrence of F1 hybrid superiority.
