Summary:The experiment was carried out at the center of Practical training and experiments of Lithuanian Veterinary Academy with 2 groups of cows. The effect of probiotic preparation Yeasture, produced by "Censone" firm on rumen fluid fermentative activity of dairy cows was studied. Each cow of the experimental group II has got 10 g/d of probiotic preparation Yeasture. The impact of the probiotic preparation on rumen fermentation processes of cows kept indoors and on pasture was tested. It was detected that supplementation with probiotic Yeasture resulted in more efficient ruminal fermentation as compared with an untreated control of dairy cows kept indoors and on pasture. Feeding with the probiotic Yeasture shifted VFA fermentation patterns by reduction in acetate by 2.07 +- 0.33 mol% (P0.05) and 2.52 +- 0.71 (P0.05) mol% of dairy cows kept indoors and on pasture and increasing the amount of propionic acid by 2.64 +- 0.92 mol% (P 0.05) of cows kept on pasture. Feeding of dairy cows kept indoors and on pasture with probiotic Yeasture improved forages organic matter digestibility in vitro as compared with an untreated control.
