Summary:This study analyses the sources for the harvest planning procedures outlined in the law of 18th October 1819, issued by Ferdinand I of Bourbon, King of the Two Sicilies, and in the one of 1st August 1826, issued by his son Francis I. Together with other forestry legislations for protection of the Mediterranean forest passed by Central and Northern Italian states before unification of Italy, these two Bourbon laws led to the development of harvest planning doctrine in Italy, even though they did contain contradictory proposals regarding the conservation of forests Questo studio riguarda le fonti delle procedure assestamentali contenute nella legge del 18 ottobre 1819, emanata da Ferdinando I dei Borboni, re delle Due Sicilie, e in quella dell'1 agosto 1826, dovuta a suo figlio Francesco I. Quelle fonti, assieme ad altre, relative alla legislazione forestale prodotta a favore della foresta mediterranea dagli stati preunitari dell'Italia Centrale e Settentrionale, hanno favorito lo sviluppo della dottrina assestamentale nel nostro Paese, anche se non sono mancate in esse proposizioni contraddittorie nei riguardi della salvaguardia delle foreste
