Summary: | In order to collecting and identifying varius species of Ephedra genus in Khorasan province, at first by using of scientific resources and avalible papers, distribution areas were determined. Then base on climatic conditions and phenological stage of plant (basic flowering stage),nessasary planning for collecting samples designed. During field works, not only flowered branches were collected, but also ecological factors of vegetation site such as: weather (Precipitation and temperature), Soil texture, climate, Altitude, topography slope and natural vegetation (dominance and campanian plants) were registered. Then samples were dried at free air and after packing were sent to Institute of Ranges and Forests research. Double samples were transported into herbarium of natural resouces and Livestock center research. Botanical survey on samples refered to identitying at least four species of Ephedra genus that are: E.major, E.foliata, E.intermedia, E.strobilaceae. Also, ecological survey showed that each species of Ephedra genus has special characteristics, for example E.major grows at high regions where precipitation is greatly (P350mm), E.foliata with ranner form vegetation is symbiosis with endemic Pistacia vera masses, E.intermedia with vast adaptation range and optimal disterbution is important from aspects of soil conversation and medicinal properties E.strobilaceae that is resistance to dryness, grows on sand dones at deserty ranges and it is important from point of feeding livestock. |
