Summary:The basic role of improved wheat varieties in yield potential, and importance of the Fars province as the biggest wheat producer of Iran, necessitates the investment on genetic improvement of wheat, which begins with hybridization. The best characteristics of two parents may combine, and progenies with the desirable features of the parents, will be selected from the segregating population. In this evaluation more than 360 lines and varieties of native and international nurseries in Crossing Block, and 45 F I generations, originated from the last year hybridization program, were planted. Crossing Block includes lines with high yielding, disease resistance, environment adaptability, desirable grain quality and the commercial local varieties. 115 crosses were made, out of which 89 crosses had enough seeds and also From 45 Fl generation,45 entries were selected. Complementary crosses such as Back Crosses and Double Crosses were also made.
