Summary:The objective of this study was development of cultivated area for rice in semicold regions in Chaharmahal-va-Bakhtiari province. At the first year, 20 rice lines and two checks were evaluated in a primary yield comparison and 6 lines were selected. These selected lines were compared in replicated experiment in mentioned region at the second and third years, but in 2006 the experiment was done in three locations of this province (Zayanderood, Jooneghan and Lordegan). The combined analyses for three years in Zayanderood showed, the differences between genotypes were significant for all traits at 1% level of probability. The effect of year was just significant for traits of phonologic stages, number of fertile and unfertile tillers per plant, number of strile and filled grains per panicle and and grain yield. The lines 7 (Rosa-Manchatli) and 14 (Stevela) had the highest yield, 6235 and 5921 kg/ha, respectively. On the other hand, the lines 7 is more desirable than lines 14, based on the results of combined analysis for grain yield on three years. The effect of location was significant at 1% level of probability for all of traits expect length of panicle. lines 7 had the most of yield (5.545 t/ha) based 0n three averages of locations. This lines did not have significant difference with lines 1, 3 and 13. the check variety (Koohrang) had the least of yield. The correlation coefficients between yield and traits of number of fertile shoots per plant and 100-grain weight were positive and significant (respectively r=0.72 and r=0.58), but yield with other traits had negative and significant correlation. At all, the lines 7 (Rosa-Manchatli) is better than other lines and check variety because of ; high grain yield, lower growthing period and shorter height, and this line is recommended for these regions.
