Summary:There are about 15 to 18 million hectares of salt affected land in Iran. Salinity management through reclamation and drainage or the use of improved irrigation techniques is often very expensive. Improving salt tolerance variety through plant breeding is one of the most cost effective means of maintaining crop production in areas with moderate salinity . In this study we evaluated sugar beet salt tolerant variety (7233-P.29*Mst)with IC and Nemakill recommended varieties in two different salinity condiution(Ec=8 and 14 dsm-1 on sugar beet farmer field using complete randomize block design with six replication. On sever salinity condiution (Ec=14 dsm-1 )we have not enough plant per hectaors and the experement in this condiution were eleminated, but in moderat salinity condiution (Ec=8 dsm-1) the plant density more than 80000 plant per hc. The results showed root yield, sugar yield and white sugar yield of varieties was significantly affected by salinity condiution. The average root yield of 7233-P.29*Mst was 41.5t/ha, while the averaged IC1 was 30.65 T/ha. The sugar yield for 7233-P.29*Mst was 7.14 t/ha and showed significantly different with IC1 and Nemakil varieities. Significant difference withen white sugar yield and sugar yield were due to root yield difference. So root yield affected by salinity more than other traits. The other qantative and qulitatve characers did not show significantly difference.
