Summary:This experiment was carried out to compare different oestrus synchronization methods. 180 ewes of Kaboudeh Shiraz from commercial flock were used during spring 1999. The expriment was consisted of six treatments. The oestrous cycles of the ewes were synchronized using six methods including: 1 )An intramuscular (i.m.) injection of 20 mg progesterone injection every second day for 12 days and single Lm. injection of 500 IU PMSG in the twelfth day,2)use of CIDR for 12 days and single i.m. injection of 500 IU PMSG at the time of CIDR removal,3)use of sponge for 12 days and single i.m. injection of 500 IU PMSG at the time of sponge removal ,4)use of two i.m. injection of PGF2X with nine days interval,5)use of two i.m. injection of PGF2X with nine days interval and i.m.injection of 500lU PMSG at the nineth day,6)control. Rams were introduced for 5 days after 24h into groups. Data were recorded and analysed using GLM and Chi- Square metods in SAS statistical package. Results were shown that: oestrus percentage during ram introducing in six groups were 80,93,100,37,30 and 20 respectively, and these were significant among different groups (P0.001). Parturition percentages during expected date were 62,60,90,13,13 and 17.3 respectively. These results were significant between third group and other groups(P0.001). Lambing percentages were 138,144,141,100,150 and 100 respectively. Differences among first ,second, third and fifth groups were not significant but it was significant between fourth and sixth with other groups. Ewes percentage that had twining were 22,27.7,41,0,25 and 0, respectively. There were statistically significant differences between third group and others but it was not significant among first, second and fifth. Due to high reproductive performance, the sponge treatment was the most profitable treatment.
