Evaluation and selection in bread wheat segregating generations and preliminary yield trial (for Cold Zone)

In this study bread wheat generations and populations included 174 F2, 130 F3, 42 F4, 64 F5 and 302 lines of F6 were evaluated using Modified bulk method. Also 217 lines were studied in Preliminary yield trial without replication (PWSN). In totally based on desirable traits such as good tillering, p...

Summary:In this study bread wheat generations and populations included 174 F2, 130 F3, 42 F4, 64 F5 and 302 lines of F6 were evaluated using Modified bulk method. Also 217 lines were studied in Preliminary yield trial without replication (PWSN). In totally based on desirable traits such as good tillering, plant height, early maturity, seed health, and resistance to diseases, shattering and lodging, 98, 106, and 42 populations were selected from F2, F3, and F4, respectively. Also 61 family from F5 (2-5 single plant from each family) and 119 lines from F6 were selected to participate in F6 generation and PWSN trial of Karaj station, respectively in next season year. Based on yield and other desirable traits such as resistance to yellow rust, 59 lines were selected from 217 lines of PWSN. These lines will be studied in PRWYT -C trial in seven stations of cold zone in next year.
