Summary:In order to determine yield stability and genotype × environment interaction effects under terminal drought stress and non-stress conditions, 20 promising barley lines were evaluated during years 2008 to 2010. Experiments were conducted using randomized complete block design with three replications in five moderate stations including Karaj, Esfahan, Varamin, Yazd and Birjand. Combined analysis of variance showed significant difference in yield among year × location and genotype × location × year interaction effects under terminal drought stress conditions and under non-stress conditions. Mean comparisons of yield among genotypes using Duncan test revealed that genotypes No. 13, 15, 11 and 14 had grain yield of 5.567, 5.391, 5.216 and 5.206 t/ha under terminal drought stress conditions. genotypes No. 15, 1, 13 and 18 had grain yield of 7.277, 7.231, 7.173 and 7.102 t/ha under non-stress conditions, respectively having the highest yields among genotypes tested. Since the genotype × location × year interaction effects were significant under stress and non_stress conditions, respectively, different stability analysis methods were employed to determine the effects of G × E and genotype adaptation in details. In overall, genotypes No. 13 (EBYTMD87-13), 15 (EBYTMD87-15) and 16 (EBYTMD87-16) showed the highest adaptation in the most of different methods of stability analysis and these selected as candidates for on-farm trials from which some may be released
