Summary:In order to determine yield stability and genotype× environment interaction effect, 20 promising barley lines were evaluated during years 2008 to 2010. Experiments were conducted using randomized complete block design with three replications in ten moderate stations including Karaj, Kerman, Kelardasht, Esfahan, Birjand, Zarghan, Varamin, Yazd, Mashhad and Neishabour. Combined analysis of variance showed significant difference in yield among locations year × location, genotypes, genotype × location and genotype × location × year interaction effects. Mean comparisons of yield among genotypes using Duncan test revealed that genotypes No. 10 with yield of 7.154 t/ha had the highest yield. Since the genotype × location × year interaction effect was significant, different stability analysis methods were employed to determine the effects of G × E and genotype adaptation in details. In overall, genotypes No. 10 (EBYTM87-10), 14 (EBYTM87-14) and 19 (EBYTM87-19) showed the highest adaptation in the most of different methods of stability analysis and these were selected as candidates for on-farm trials from which some may be released.
