Summary:In order to study the effect of different rates and sources of chemical fertilizers on quantity and quality of safflower, a trial was conducted as randomize complete block design with 3 replications and 3 treatments of Zinc sulphate with three rates (Zfi ,Zn25 and Zn50 ), Boric acid with three rates (BO ,B 1 0 and B20 ) and Ferrous chelate with three times to spray ( FeO, Fel and Fe2 ) on 2003 in Mahidasht research station in Kermanshah province. The results of 3 years combination showed that the interaction of Zn,B and Fe treatments, increased grain yield of safflower significantly at 5 % level. The treatment of Zn25BOFe2 (25 kilograms zinc sulphate without boron acid and two times spray with Ferrous chelate) with 1686 kgha-1 grain yield was in a group. The main effect of year ,increased grain yield significantly at 1 ~vel . The third year with 1753 kghaI was in a group .The first and second years were in b group with 1324 and 1268 kgha-1 grain yield. The main effect of fertilizer treatments didn't increase oil percent of safflower grain significantly but interaction of them were significant at 5o/devel .The treatment of Z110 BI0FeO with 29.58% oil was in a group and Zn25BOFe2 was in b group. The main effect of year, increased oil percent significantly at 5% level. First and third year with 29.31and 29 % oil were in a group and second year with 28.20% oil was in b group .The interaction of Zn,B and Fe treatments and main effect of year increased one thousand grain weight of safflower significantly at 5 % level. The treatment of Z110 BI0Fe2 with thousand grain weight of 30g was in a group and Z110 BI0FeO with thousand grain weight of 27.56g was in b group. The first and third year with 30.32 and 29.69g were in a group and second year with 26.28g was in b group respectively
