Summary:To obtain high yielding and stable cultivars of durum wheat lines with desirable grain quality and resistant to diseases, 20 durum elite genotypes (two of which were checks, Karkheh, and Chamran, durum and bread wheat cultivars, respectively) originated from Advanced Durum Yield Trial in warm region (ADYT-W) were tested in 6 locations (Khorram Abad, Darab, Dezfol ,Ahwaz, Iranshahr and Zabol research stations in warm climates of Iran in two years(2008-2010). The experiments were conducted in a RCBD design with 3 replications. Each plot included of 6 rows with row spacing of about 20cm. Seed rate was 450 seeds/m2. At each station fertilizer, irrigation and chemical application were undertaken according to the technical recommendations. A mixture of Puma Super and Granestar was used for controlling of weeds. Phenological and agronomical characteristics such as days to heading and maturity, plant height, lodging and response to diseases (Yellow rust_) were recorded. After harvesting the yield of genotypes were recorded. By using ranking (R), standard deviation of ranks (SDR), and Wrick equivalence (Wi) methods, 4 genotypes (D-87-11, D-87-13, D-87-19 and D-87-20) were selected to be tested in On-farm yield trials of next crop season.
