Summary: | In oder to evaluate drought tolerance in grain sorghum cultivars and advanced lines, an experiment was conducted as split-plot on randomized complete block design with three replications at experimental field of seed and plant Improvement Institute, Karaj in 2009-2010 (two years). The results of combined analysis showed that cultivars and lines were significant differences in 1% probability level. Mean comparisons indicated KGS32 line with grain yield of 9298.97 Kg ha-1 was allocated the highest yield.Kimiya cultivar and KGS23 line respectively with grain yield 8777.5 and 8142.15 Kg ha-1 were in the next ranks. Results using stress Susceptibility Index (SSI) revealed that KGS15 and KGS19 lines and sepeede cultivar respectively with SSI , 0.49, 0.7 and 0.80 were more tolerant than others. Stress Tolerance Index (STI) , kimiya cultivar and KGS32 line respectively with 11424.45 and 11239.72 Kg ha-1 announced as stress tolerant genotypes.Mean productivity (MP), Kimiya cultivar and KGS32 and KGS36 lines were determinated as stress tolerant genotypes.Tolerance Index (TOL) revealed that Payam and sepeede cultivars and KGS19 and KGS36 lines respectively with grain yield of 5057.78, 6233.61, 6267.5 and 6319.72 Kg ha-1 in stress conditions were determinated as stress tolerant genotypes. Geometric Mean Productivity (GMP), Kimiya cultivar and KGS32 and KGS36 lines respectively with grain yield of 11424.45, 11239.72 and 10141.67 Kg ha-1 were determinated as stress tolerant genotypes. Study of high and positive correlation between STI, GMP, and MP especially STI Index with yield in optimum and drought conditions indicated that them as the best indices for introduce drought tolerant genotypes.Study of total indices with give attention to that the best genotypes have high yield in optimal conditions and least decrease in yield at stress conditions, introduced Kimiya cultivar and KGS32 , KGS36 and KGS23 lines as suitable genotypes in drought stress conditions. |
