Summary:In order to achieve high yielding breed wheat lines/ varieties with good adaptability , this study was carried out in four research stations of north zone . A randomized complete block design (RCBD) was setup with 60 newly improved lines along with two checks ((N-80-19) and Morvarid) in 3 replications at four agricultural research stations namely ,Gorgan,Moghan ,Gonbad, and Sari during 2008- 09 growing season.. Entries of this study were selected out of 254 lines from preliminary regional bread wheat yield trial of 2008-09. Each Plot size was 6x1.2 m=(7.2m2) including 6 rows with 6-meter length and row spacing was 20 cm. During the cropping season the following field data were recorded , days to heading (DHE), plant height (PLH), thousand kernel weight (KW) lodging, reaction to diseases under mist irrigation system, shuttering and days to maturity (DMA). After harvesting, grains of each plot were weighted separately and collected data were analyzed .Based on rank method R ,SDR (standard deviation ratio), Yield Index Ratio (YIR%), field notes and reaction to diseases, nineteen (19) superior lines were selected to be studied in Elite Regional Yield Trials (ERWYT-N) in the next growing season.
