Summary: | Powdery Mildew disease is observed in whole of the cultivated sugar beet areas in Iran. Peak time of infection for this disease in Kermanshah is July , when storage of sugar increases in root of sugar beets. This disease is controled easily with fungicides but these fungicides are dangerous for environment. Therefore one of the best methods for control of this disease is resistant cultivars. For this reason we used a population named 14442 . In the first year 50 roots that had resistance to powdery mildew were selected. then polycross seed was produced and the best half sib families were selected. The H.S13 ¡ H.S24 æ H.S35 were the best half sibs. From these half sibs 105 roots were selected for S1 production. |
