Collection,Identification and Evaluation of seed medicinal plants of Qazvin Province in order to Gene Bank Development

Studies have shown that more than 250000 plant species growing around the world. In present study, it has been tried to report and analyze a successful mission, which focused to collect range and medicinal plant seeds, in Qazvin province in 2003-2006. Qazvin province with an area of 1.58 km-2 has various vegetation. It has different elevation from 300 m in Tarom to 4140 m in Alborz mountain. In general this zone has about 61% mountainous and %39 that regions. Medicinal plants seed from plot about 100m2 was gathered in each year. Altitude, latitude, Ph, Ec of soil determined. A contribution to the flora, life form, geographical features property and use and harvesting calender is given. In this study 205 accession include 91 species from 35 zone collected and identificated.They belong to 31 families and 74 genera, 1 pteridophyta, 1 Spermatophyta, 4 Monocotyledome and 58 Dicotyledonae were identified. Lamiaceae with 23, Apiaceae with 17 and Asteraceae with 11 species were the most families that have the highest number of species .Hemichrophyta with 33% and Throphyta with 28% is the most frequent life form of qazvin province. Most of species are Iran _Torani distribution and collected from 1000 _2500 m. 26 speciecs were cultivated in Iran and world that 6 species distribute as wild.
