Summary:The technology of Cryopreservation is of high importance for long-term preserving of germplasm. This technology is useful only when no genetic variation is induced. In order to study genetic stability of two potato varieties, Agria and Marphona, preserved in long-term and normal conditions, AFLP technique was used. Induced variations in ploidy level were also assessed by Flowcytometry and cytogenic studies. The result of AFLP analysis performed by 7 primer combinations, indicated 97% homology between seedlings of Agria preserved in longterm and normal conditions. Seedlings of Marfona also in two conditions showed 100% homology. Cryopreservation also induced no variation in ploidy level.
