Summary: | Efficacy of clopyralid (Lontrel 300) was tested in oil seed rape fields of three Provinces, Fars, Golestan and Khuzestan during 2005. The experiment was set up as Randomized Complete Block Design with four replications and the following eight treatments: Preemergence application of Lontrel (30%) at 0.4. 0.6, and 0.8 Lha-1pre plant incorporation of trifluralin at 2 Lha-1trifluralin+Lontrel at times and doses mentioned above and weedless check. All treatments were sprayed with cycloxidim (Focus, 10% EC) against grassy weeds at the rate of 2 Lha-1. Oil seed rape varieties were Licord in Fars, Hyola 401 in Golestan and Hyola 405 in Khuzestan. Results showed that 0.8 L of Lontrel can control Malva sylvestris by 76%, Melilotus spp. By 87%, Ammi majus by 90%, Silybum marianum by 94%, Cardauus pycnocephalus by 95% and Polygonum sp. By 94%. Combination of Lontrel with trifluralin did not affect % control of above weeds, but it did have an effect on yield because trifluralin can control other weeds that are not controlled by Lontrel. |
