Summary:Influence of 8 rootstocks upon the yield and quality of 7 sweet orange trees in Fars province)Vegetative growth) In order to study the influence of 8 rootstocks upon the yield and quality of 7 sweet orange trees in Fars province, a factorial experiment was carried out in Jahrom research station in 2002-2004. There were treatments consisting of 8 rootstocks (Troyer Citrange , Cleopatra mandarin, Citrumelo, Rangpur lime, Rough lemon, Mexican lime, Bakraie and sour orange) and 7 scions (Jahromi orange, No. 4 Ramsar, Hamlin, Washangton navel, Thompson navel, navel and Frost valencia) which were applied in Randomized block design, each treatments consisting of 4 trees with 3 replications. The chemical and physical soil and water analysis of the exp. site indicated that soil had medium Tex. , high pH (8.3), potassium and O.M were medium, high calcium and magnesium and without water salinity hazard. All treatments were used the same fertigation, irrigation, control of weeds and . . . . . The result have been gotten from Duncan&rsquotest at 1% finally showed that Bakraie with 1.99 m Height, 6.41 cm, trunk diameter and 2.12 m3 canopy and citrumelo with 0.88 meter height, 3.37 cm, trunk diameter and 0.27 m3 canopy were the highest and lowest vegetative growth. In the between cultivares the highest, height, trunk diameter and canopy related to Hamlin with 1.69 m, 5.22 cm and 1.51 m3 and the lowest height and trunk diameter related to Washangton navel with 1.22 m and 4.14 cm and the lowest canopy related to Ferast navel with 0.64 m3. The interaction between Rootstock and scion showed the best treatments were No. 4 Ramsar orange on Bakraie with 2.38 meter height and 7.35 cm Trunk diameter and orlando tangelo on Bakraie with 3.13 m3 canopy.
