Summary:Salinity stress is one of the most important limiting factors in growth and yielding of plants in arid and semi-arid regions . One of the most practical and economic solutions for this stress is release the tolerant varieties. This experiment was conducted to 20 salinity tolerant barley lines in a randomized complete block with three replicates in Esfahan regions during 2002-2003. EC of soil was about 9 ds/m and plants were irrigated with saline water (EC=12 ds/m) . Some traits such as date of heading , date of physiological maturity , and plant height were noted down .Grain yield and thousand kernel weight of each genotype measured .Based on the grain yield two lines selected .One of the line is No.16 with pedigree (LB.Iran/una 8231//Gloriaandrdquosandrdquo/comeandrdquosandrdquo-11M/3/Kavir) another line is No.18 with pedigree (73-M4-30).
