Summary:Grasspea (Lathyrus sativus L) important winter legume, a protein rich and stress tolerant crop is grown in marginal inputs. Different seed coat colours are observed in this crop. The present study was undertaken to examine the seed coat colour, seed size and protein content of some grasspea genotypes and also to investigate any relationship between seed characters with protein content with a view to identify phenotypic markers for the selection of high protein lines in grasspea.
