Summary:The paper presents data on livestock farmers' and extension workers' preference of selected communication media and extent of their use by extensions workers. The findings revealed that majority of the farmers were using interpersonal communication sources like neighbours and relatives besides radio. The extension workers were found to be organising Kisan Mela, farm visit and cattle show for dissemination of improved livestock production technologies. Lack of livestock farmers' contact with technical persons, poor use of extension literature and television programmes were identified as important reasons for poor state of transfer of livestock production technologies. The extension workers were not using suitable combination of communication media.
