Summary:The experiment was conducted during 1995-97 on effect of vermicompost on nutrient status of leaf and yield in Banana revealed that the major nutrients nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were found significantly maximum in 100 per cent Recommended Dose of Fertilizer (RDF) (2.60% N, 0.26% P and 4.20% K), while, minimum were noticed in 50 per cent RDF alone for nitrogen (2.05%) and in in situ vermicomposting @ 125000 worms per hectare for phosphorus (0.19%) and potassium (3.20%) in plant crop. Similar trend was noticed in ratoon crop also. Significantly highest yield per hectare was noticed in 100 per cent RDF (21.29 t), while, it was lowest in in situ vermicomposting @ 250000 worms per hectare 912.34 t) in plant crop. The same was noticed in ratoon crop.
