Summary:Productivity of cassava in East Java at the present time which is around 12 t/ha fresh tuber is considered as one of the limiting factors for getting higher income. This low productivity caused by the use of inappropriate technology, whereas actually the technology which can produce up to 30 t/ha fresh tuber is already available. Effort which facilitates the implementation of productive technology worthy enough to be formulated. Productive technology which is able to produce 30 t/ha fresh tuber consists of the use of high yielding varieties as Adira 4, Faroka, Pandemir, Malang I and II, combined with application of 7,5 t/ha of manure every two years and inorganic fertilizers as 200 kg Urea + 100 kg TSP + 100 kg KCl/ha. Fertilizers application should be implemented first, while the use of high yielding varieties can come later. Fertilizer application can be practiced step-wise in which NP plus manure, NK without manure, and NPK without considering manure application. The use of productive technology will be very likely handicapped by the limited demand, thus there are two cropping system alternatives to choose from. First cropping system alternative means stabilizing the harvest area, whereas the second alternative means stabilizing the production. Challenges to be faced and some suggestions to overcome these challenges are also described in this paper. Tingkat produktivitas ubikayu di Jawa Timur masa kini yang besarnya sekitar 12 t/ha ubisegar merupakan salah satu pembatas rendahnya pendapatan petani. Produktivitas yang rendah tersebut disebabkan oleh penerapan teknologi budidaya yang kurang memadai, sedangkan rakitan teknologi budidaya yang mampu meningkatkan taraf produktivitas menjadi 30 t/ha ubisegar telah tersedia. Upaya yang memungkinkan rakitan teknology produktif dapat diimplementasikan sangat layak dirumuskan. Teknologi produktif yang mampu memberikan hasil ubikayu sebesar 30 t/ha terdiri atas penggunaan varietas unggul seperti Adira 4, Faroka, Pandemir, Malang I dan II, serta pemberian pupuk kandang sebanyak 7,5 t/ha selang setahun dan pupuk anorganik 200 kg Urea + 100 kg TSP + 100 kg KCl/ha. Teknologi pemberian pupuk harus lebih dahulu diterapkan sebelum varietas unggul dapat tersedia secara luas. Penerapan teknologi pemupukan dapat secara bertahap dengan pemberian pupuk nitrogen sebagai keharusan
