Summary:Clarias gariepinus fry with an average individual body weight of 10 mg were stocked in 5-liter plastic basins at density of 10 fish/l. The treatments consisted of 4 different initial feeding times. The Completely Randomized design was used with 3 replications. The feed was given at 20 percent (dry matter basis) of body weight per day up to the second sampling. 10 percent in the third, fourth and fifth sampling. The results of the experiment lasting for 25 days showed that the effect of different feeding times of natural and artificial feed on the growth were significantly different (P0.01). The initial feeding of Moina sp. to the fry from the 6th till the 15th day of life and feeding of artificial feed from the 16th till 30th day of life gave the best results. Benih lele dumbo berumur 5 hari dengan berat awal rata-rata 10 mg dipelihara dalam waskom plastik berdiameter 30 cm, diisi air 5 liter, diberi aerasi, kepadatan 10 ekor/liter. Perlakuan adalah pemberian pakan alami Moina sp. dan pakan buatan tepung pelet pada tingkat umur berbeda, terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Rancangan percobaan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Jumlah pakan yang diberikan berdasarkan berat kering yaitu 20 persen berat badan per hari dan dilakukan sampai pengambilan contoh ke 2, sedangkan pengambilan contoh ke 3 sampai ke 5 diberikan 10 persen/hari. Penelitian berlangsung selama 25 hari. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa saat pemberian pakan alami dan buatan pada tingkat umur berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata (P0,01) terhadap pertumbuhan berat. Pemberian pakan alami (Moina sp.) mulai benih berumur 6 hari sampai 15 hari dan pakan buatan mulai benih berumur 16 hari sampai 30 hari memberikan hasil yang baik terhadap pertumbuhan berat. Kelangsungan hidup selama penelitian relatif besar yaitu berkisar antara 82-98 persen
