Summary:A preliminary study on larvae development of sea cucumber (Holothuria scabra) has been carried out at the National Seafarming Development Center, Lampung. The aim of this experiment was to study the development of embryo and larvae of Sea cucumber resulted from artificial spawning by using environmental manipulation. The larvae were fed with Tetraselmis chuii, Chlorella, Chaetoceros, Isochrysis galbana, Dunaliella and Paedactylum. The stages of development of the Sea cucumber eggs and larvae are as follows; multy cell (1 hours after fertilization); blastula and gastrula stage. The measurement of newly hatched larvae (Auricularia stage) is about 460-1000 micron in length and 320-620 micron in width. Eleven days after fertilization the larvae are known as doliolaria stage, measuring of 500-1,800 micron in length and 200-680 micron in width.
