Summary: | At present in the Palasari Hilir Village, Parungkuda District, Sukabumi Regency there are five patterns of dry land utilization, which consists of three agroforestry patterns, one monoculture agricultural pattern and one monoculture forestry pattern. The first agroforestry pattern (pattern A) consists of the following species composition: Albizia falcataria with Musa paradisiaca, Oryza sativa, Manihot utilissima, Zea mays, Capsicum annuum, Amomum cardamomum and Lansium domesticum. While the second agroforestry pattern (Pattern B) has the following species composition : Albizia falcataria with Amomum cardamomum and Musa paradisiaca and Thea sinensis. Furthermore the monoculture agricultural pattern (Pattern D) consists of Manihot utilissima and the monoculture forestry pattern (Pattern E) consists of Albizia falcataria. Research results of the five dry land utilization pattern showed that financially, Pattern A, Pattern B, and Pattern E are worth to be undertaken. The soils in all those dry land utilization patterns are relatively of low fertility, however, in the agroforestry patterns the soil aggregates are more stable than in the monoculture patterns. Nevertheless the erosion levels which occur in all those dry land utilization patterns are still below the permissible erosion level. A pronounced feature of the mixed agroforestry pattern is the existence of a denser plant cover compared with the monoculture patterns. |
