Summary:Land uses in upper catchments of Cikapundung progressively do not in control, so that many land use disagree with required conditions. The objectives of the research were to (1) evaluate existing land use suitability to its land suitability, (2) compile sustainable land use model in upper catchments, and (3) compile simulation land use model which have been formulated to study the expense of conservation, beneficial crop type and conservation action alternative. In this research three sub model were made (erosion sub model using USLE and Arsyad, runoff sub model using Bransby and Williams, and social economics sub model using B/C ratio and NPV), and then were integrated to become one land use model in upper catchments by using computer program package Powersim Version 2.5c. The model was simulated by considering land suitability aspect to obtain sustainable land use. Land use in Cikapundung upper catchments equal to 70.52 percent disagree with land condition. The rate of erosion in dry land, pine forest and plantation of quinine is abysmal of permissible erosion, while in natural forest, rice field and grass land is still normal. Run off coefficient from all region per year goes up equal to 0.3878 percent and B/C of dry land is equal to 3.33. To maintain thickness of land and reduce run off coefficient but admitting support life of farmer, minimum 10 percent of the profit obtained be used to defray activity of conservation. Profitable vegetable crop type are potato, chickpea and pepper, as long as at least 5 percent of the profit obtained be used for the activity of conservation. An appropriate conservation type is credit terrace.
