Summary:Authors developed a test based on direct latex agglutination for the early diagnosis of pregnancy in the mare. Testing the sera of 136 pregnant mares shows that the new product - compared to the similar available diagnostics and the micro-ELISA - may by reliably used for diagnosis of pregnancy from the 40th day on. The test is specific, reliable and can be carried out in a simple way in the field.
