Summary: | 14 per cent extracted sunflower meal was repleaced by 3 per cent Kovin-50 (feed grade urea) in concentrates fed to young lambs and Nitrovin metabolism and fattening experiments suggested, that Kovin-50 might be completely substituted for extracted sunflower meal and even the nitrogen retention was 22 per cent higher. Nitrovin merely increased protein digestibility. Change in the blood-urea also suggested that in the presence of sufficient energy Kovin-50 was an efficient protein-replacer. All experimental groups showed the same result consequently Kovin-50 substituted for sunflower, Nitrovin was of no effect. |
