Summary:In a botanical field trip on 6 April 1999 the authors collected several Festuca specimens both for transplantation and herbarium in the Cedar-mountains in Syria. This material has been maintained as living plants in a culture of the Botanical Garden of Eotvos University in Budapest. The plants studied seemed to be Festuca circummediterranea, but differed from this taxa significantly by forming both bunches and stolons. There are also some differences in leaf anatomy.
