Description of the movement of dissolved materials in the soil using deterministic transport models

Equilibrium, two-site and two-region models were tested using the results of laboratory model experiments. Summary:Equilibrium, two-site and two-region models were tested using the results of laboratory model experiments. It was found that the calculation of the movement of non-adsorbed components could be carried out satisfactorily with either the equilibrium or the two-region model. The movement of ions absorbed on soil colloids, however, could only be adequately described using the two-site and two-region models. (The studies indicated that the experimental data could be interpreted better using the two-region model.)
