Summary:The study deals with the histopathological lesions that have been observed in the heart, skeleton muscles and diaphragm on sheep sarcosporidiosis (Sarcocytis ovicanis). Samples from different muscles of 42 sheep have been examined. All sheep were found infected with parasitological cysts in muscle fibers of all examined organs. Numerous cysts of Sarcocystis were observed in Purkinje fibers as well. In addition, degeneration of infected muscle fibers of heart and skeleton muscles have been observed. However, a few muscle fibers containing degenerative cysts of sarcocystis were infiltrated or surrounded by macrophages and lymphocytes. In the heart Zenker degeneration has been observed.
