Summary:Pheromone trapping studies from 1983 to 1986 showed that in Western Macedonia (Northern Greece) in apple and peach orchards there were annually three periods of San Jose Scale, Quadraspidiotus perniciosus (comstock), male flight activity. The first flight appeared early in July, while the third flight appeared late in August and continued until the second half of October. These flights can be correlated with the appearance of the scale crawlers in this region during three periods (June, August, October). This information is useful to determine the right of chemical application against the immature stages of San Jose scale, under conditions prevailing in Western Macedonia
