Summary:In moving towards information society Man consumes more different kind of energy. Sustainable development, first and foremost, means sustainable use of people, the replacement of people with unhealthy jobs and the replacement of direct labour with automatic systems. The increase in energy need requires an inventory both in the present energy supply and production. Their reserves both in Estonia and outside Estonia are running out - the supplies will be exhausted in the next 20-30 years. There still remain some smaller deposits, but their application and processing will be considerably more expensive
