Summary:The occurrence of lignicolous macromycetes was monitored on 18 permanent test plots in oak forests of central Bohemia in 1991-1994, and their importance with respect to the health status of stands affected by decline with tracheomycotic symptoms to a different extent was evaluated. The results of investigation indicate an increased proportion of this trophic group of fungi on the one hand, and on the other hand a decrease in the proportion of mycorrhizal fungi on locations with the worsening health condition of oaks. This phenomenon can be documented by an assessment of the species spectrum of macromycetes and by changes in their abundance and frequency.
