Summary:The aim of this study was to compare the effect of a commonly used vaccine (VMH) and Respisure vaccine (RV) against Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (MH). Two groups of piglets from herds with MH occurrence were vaccinated either by VMH (n=616) or by RV (n=1,226) at the age of 7 and 21 days. In comparison with piglets vaccinated by VMH, the animals vaccinated by RV had lower mortality, higher weight gains, better feed conversion efficiency, and less pathoanatomical changes in lungs. These results indicate that the use of RV against MH infection was more efficient than the use of VMH.
