Summary:The goal of this work was to evaluate the toxic effect of Basudin 600 EW, an organophosphorus pesticide, on common carp (Cyprinus carpio). The toxic effect was evaluated by examining and comparing the white blood picture in a control and an experimental group of carps. After acute exposure (96 h), there was a significant reduction in leukocyte count, relative and absolute lymphocyte count and significant increase in both relative and absolute sum of neutrophile granulocytes and their developmental forms. The presented paper contributes to the evaluation of the toxic effect of Basudin 600 EW on non-target organisms.
