Summary:Definitions of regeneration cuttings and management systems used in the Czech Republic are evaluated in this study, and an opinion of classification of management systems and their forms is presented (Provision No. 83/1996 of the Ministry of Agriculture of CR). Faults and inaccuracies in the names and definitions of the used management systems are indicated. These inaccuracies are encountered mainly in nonclear-cutting systems in which selection principles are used to a larger extent, showing intensive development in recent years. Proposed alterations in the terminology and definitions of management systems are summarized at the end of the paper; amendments of their classification are also proposed.
